Welcome to the Sociology Department at CU-Boulder
Attention: Ketchum Hall is currently being renovated. Thus, for the academic year 2015-2016, the Sociology Department will be housed in Fleming Hall. The updated location of faculty offices can be found on the Faculty and Staff pages.
The Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado at Boulder can be found in the Ketchum Building. Our department has nearly two dozen full-time faculty, and our research spans many common areas of specialization, with highly respected scholarship in qualitative and quantitative methodology. Faculty research encompasses at least one of the five areas in which the department offers specialization:
- Environmental Sociology
- Crime and Deviance
- Qualitative & Interpretive Sociology
- Population & Health
As a well respected center for teaching and research in its own right, the Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado is increasingly recognized for its world-renowned research and teaching faculty, its respected programs, and its active and engaged graduate student body.
