Ileana Morales is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder. She holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a master's degree in Latin American and Border Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her scholarly journey has been further enriched through her previous NOAA EPP/MSI Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing Technologies fellowship. 

Ileana's research interest focuses on exploring the multifaceted impact of heat on society, with a particular emphasis on improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations. She demonstrates a profound commitment to understanding the intricate relationship between climate change and human well-being. By leveraging her expertise in sociology and her comprehensive grasp of Latin American and border studies, Ileana endeavors to shed light on the far-reaching implications of heat on different communities.
